Theatrics in Washington

Hi Wendy!
Saw the mention for your site the ATC board. I am a DC resident and theater-lover myself, so a big thanks for putting this blog up!
I'm in a production that's getting ready to open tomorrow night, The Who's TOMMY at the Little Theater of Alexandria. It's a spectacular production for a community theater, if I can say so myself ;-) (and who would not LOVE the music??!)
Well, it's not one of the major professional theaters in the area, but I hope you can come out or mention on your blog in any event.

My name is Amy Lerner and I'm producing a show at Second Stage at the Warehouse Theater. It was great to read about your blog on ATC (I'm BehindBlueEyes, I post rarely but I love reading!)

I'm part of a new theatre company from Reston (we all went to high school together) called the Walking Shadow Theatre Company. We are performing "The Country Club" by Douglas Carter Beane August 5-7 and 12-14.

Thanks for your interest in DC theatre. This company has been so amazing to be a part of, as we are self-producing, acting, directing, and teching this production, as well as raising over $2000 to do it. And we are mostly college students as well. It has been an intense learning experience.

Thanks so much for these comments! I do hope to promote these shows and I'm thrilled with the ambition and dynamism of these local productions. Do make sure to promote any special deal$ to Brian Dragonuk's e-mail lists, expertly managed by Lorraine Treanor, and the footlights, the Ushers, etc.
We need an organized marketing and promotion effort for these smaller, newer stages. Otherwise, I'm a bit worried that even wonderful productions won't see many bottoms in their seats. Call me a worrywart, but empty theaters are my nightmares. Break a leg, Wendy
